Yeltsin Presidential Center

The Boris Yeltsin Presidential Center is a new Russian noncommercial organisation, directed at promoting the development of the Institute of Presidency in Russia. The sociocultural Presidential Center includes a museum, exhibition and discussion center, a branch of the Boris Yeltsin's Presidential library and Center for information and education activities and expertise.

The Boris Yeltsin Presidential Center

 
The Boris Yeltsin Presidential Center is a not-for-profit organization that promotes the institution of the Russian presidency and the development of civil society, democratic institutions and the rule of law. The Yeltsin Center was founded in 2009 in Ekaterinburg, Russia, in accordance with federal law No. 68 of 13 April 2008, "On Centers for the Historical Legacy of Presidents of the Russian Federation Who Have Stopped Exercising Their Powers" The  center also has a branch in Moscow.
 
The mission of the Boris Yeltsin Presidential Center is to preserve, study, and present to the public the historical legacy of the first president of the Russian Federation. It regularly organizes exhibits and conferences about Boris Yeltsin's life and work, as well as on Russian and world history at the end of the 20th century. The Center's complex includes a museum, exhibition and conference space and a branch of the Yeltsin Presidential Library.
The Yeltsin Center also supports activities in the following areas: Education, Culture, Youth, Intemational, Humanitarian Cooperation, Publishing, Literary Awards.
 
 
 

Yeltsin Center Literary Awards

 
The Russian Prize (Russkaya Premiya)
 
The Russkaya Premiya, established in 2005, is awarded annually for the best Russian poetry, short story (or story collection), and novel written by Russian-speaking writers living outside of Russia. Considered one of the top five most prestigious Russian literary awards, the Russkaya Premiya is dedicated to preserving and developing the Russian language.
 
The I. P. Belkin Literary Award
 
The I. P Belkin Literary Award, established in 2001 and named after a literary character created by Alexander Pushkin, is presented annually to a short story written in Russian.
 
The Rossica Translation Prize
 
The Rossica Translation Prize is awarded biennially for the best literary translation from Russian into English. First awarded in 2005, it was established jointly with the British arts organization Academia Rossica.
 
The International Russophonie Prize for Literature
 
The International Russophonie Prize for Literature is awarded annually for the best literary translation from Russian into French. First awarded in 2007, it was established jointly with the French organization France-Ural.
 
Russia-ltalia Attraverso i Secoli International Literary Prize
 
The Russia-ltalia Attraverso i Secoli Intemational Literary Prize is awarded annually for the best literary translation from Russian into Italian. First awarded in 2007, it was established jointly with the Russian Foundation for Culture.
 
Russian Literature in Spain Award
 
The Russian Literature in Spain Award is presented annually for the best literary translation from Russian into Spanish. It was first awarded in 2007.
